Yuliya:
I skipped down the row of stalls, peering into each one and smiling at each horse, until I found the one with the most beautiful one, Chornyy Samotsvit, my filly. I motioned to the boy behind me.
"This is Chornyy Samotsvit."

"Wow. She's gorgeous," I said looking at the horse. "Hello Chornyy Samotsvit," I said bowing, "It's nice to meet you."

Yuliya:
I smiled as she tossed her head, sending her long forelock cascading over her violet eyes. Some white showed in them, as she was naturally afraid of humans.
"I believe she's saying, 'If you take one step closer to me I'll bite you in half', take it as a compliment."

"That's what I need my first day here," I said sarcastically, "So are all the horses here already taken by other people?" I winced. The smell was unbearable, yet she didn't seem bothered by it. She must spend a ton of time here if she's immune to that horrible smell. I wonder how she gets it off her. I'll probably have to burn my clothes when i get back.

Yuliya:
"The blood bay is taken by Nari, but it says the students names by them if they're regularly being ridden. Consider yourself lucky, usually Chornyy Samotsvit doesn't give warnings. I've seen other students coming down here to choose a horse, and if they get anywhere near her, she bites them."

"Well then I thank you, Chornyy Samotsvit, for the warning," I said motioning to the giant creature standing before me. I winced again. "How can you not smell that? It's so bad I feel like I'm going to pass out," I said in a long whine.

"Ewwww. It's terrible. It must take a lot of getting used to. So do you want to go for a ride? I will even get on a horse if it means getting out of here."

Yuliya:
Yuliya turned on him with angry eyes, flashing violet.
"It's not terrible! It's probably my favorite smell in the whole world!"

"I'm sorry,"I said backing up. "I didn't mean to offened you. I've just never smelled it before. What I meant to say was that it's unique. I might even grow to like it too," I said backing up even more only to trip on a bale of hay and flip over a stall door. "Owwww. That hurt,"I said getting up. "OH MY GOD." I said looking straight into the eyes of a beautiful black and white horse. "Here....here you go." I said as I grabbed a carrot that was left right by the door. I extended my trembling hand directly by the horses' mouth. The horse gladly took it and brushed its head against my face. "Well hello there....um.......What's her name?" I called out to Yuliya.

Yuliya:
"It looks like, Fair Maiden, and it suits her. I can just see her pulling a Gypsy wagon, she's so strong...Arabians are built as war horses, they need to be fast, with lots of stamina, and agility, but she, Gypsy Vanners, even if they're a new breed, they're ancestors were bred to pull heavy wagons. They're shoulders a stright, which is better for a harness, rather than sloping which ensures a comfortable ride, but she'd be a great horse to ride anyway."

"Do you know all of this right off the top of you head? That's really impressive if you do." I turned to the horse. "Hello Fair Maiden. I'm Rokon Pinpuku. It's great to meet you." She looked at me with love in her tender brown eyes. Then rubbed up against me. "I think that carrot did the trick," I called out. I pet her elegent white mane. "You are so beautiful," I whispered to her in her ear.

Yuliya:
I smiled up at the big horse.
"Yeah, I know it, when you've read about five hundred versions of it it kind of sticks to you. It was my mom who liked horses, even though she liked cheetahs better. She liked big, strong horses, like Fair Maiden. I was more into the light and speedy ones, but I love all horses. It was riding instructor who really inspired me to learn about horses. She was sixteen, and she ran the stable. She also wanted to be a veternarian, so she also had to study hard. She's my hero."

"I wish I had some cool inspiration story like that. I just want to be a great mage. That's why whenever you'll see me I'll have my nose in a book. I have to study a lot. Both my parents are mages so I have a lot to live up to. What about your dad? What does he like?

Yuliya:
"He gave the other half of me. He's an astronomer. He'll go outside with his telescope and let anybody who wants to look in and see what he's showing them. I want to go up there, not in a shuttle or airplane, I want to be in it, I want to sprout my wings..."
