Nari was wandering the halls, hoping to meet some of the other students at the school. She was hoping to make some friends who were slightly saner than Yuliya. Otherwise, she would most likely go crazy.

I strolled down the hall, my books clutched to my chest. Out of chance, I glanced out the window and noticed the hill I'd made. Elementa was trying, without success, to get it down. My stomach squirmed with embarrassment, and I quickened my pace, my head down. "Oof!" I had crashed into another student. "Sorry," I muttered, feeling my face turn a tint of green, which embarrassed me even further. Why couldn't I blush like everybody else? No, I turned green instead of pink. I bent down to pick up my books, letting my hair fall over my face.

"Isok.... I wasn't watching where I was going either," Nari said. "Hi! I'm Nari. Who are you? And do you wanna be friends?" Nari was going into one of her hyper talking moods. But Nari never got as bad as Yuliya... Now Yuliya was just scary.....
Nari noticed that the other girl's skin was tinted a bit green. But, Nari dismissed it, and concentrated on what the girl was saying.

I blinked. The girl's rapid talking was a little confusing. "Isok?" Then I shook my head. "It was my fault. I was zoning out." I pushed my books back into my bag. "I'm Anna. Anna Larson. I just transfered here. And, um, yeah, I really need friends." I kept my hair over my face, though, so there was no way that she could see me. Katie had always said that I was pretty, but all I saw in the mirror was pale skin with dimples and too many freckles. And besides, having my hair back made me feel exposed. I certainly wasn't sure about Nari yet. She seemed a little nuts.

"Oh, sorry," Nari said. "Sometimes I get a bit crazy. Isok meant 'it's okay.' I also talk funny sometimes." Nari set down her bag, and leaned against the wall. "Anyway, want to eat with me and my friend? Her name is Yuliya. You probably noticed her in class. She's completely insane, but a good friend." Nari grinned.

"Yuliya." The name sparked a memory. "Yeah, I seem to recall passing out in the courtyard and waking up to hear her shrieking at me. She has a problem with cottage cheese."

"Eh heh heh..." Nari said. "Yeah, that's her alright...... Nutso..."
Nari shoved a lock of her hair back behind her ear from where it was curling across her cheek. "Stupid curls..." she grumbled to herself.
"Anyway, what do you like to do?" Nari asked. "I like listening to music, reading, computers, video games (mostly Pokemon), Irish Step Dance, Swimming, and Soccer."

"Uh." Definitely overwhelming. "I'm a writer. I mean, I love to write. And draw. And I'm a runner. I won state championships last year."

"You run? Cool. I like to write and draw too, but the only things I can draw are manga people, and goldfish. My goldfish are very good though," Nari said, laughing slightly. "I never was much good in art class. It was fun though."

"Yeah," I said, glancing out the window at the hill. God, that would make a great running track. Maybe I could ask Kristen to leave it up... I snapped myself back into reality. "Goldfish, huh? My specialty is birds, especially falcons. Actually, I made a drawing of Yuliya the other day." I pulled one of my sketchbooks from my bag and flipped it to the right page. Yuliya had taken me forever to draw. The end result I was pretty pleased with. You could see the mischief in her eyes, but her cheekbones were wrong. I showed it to Nari.

"I like it! My drawings are manga style, so the people I'm trying to draw never look quite right." Nari began to dig through her bag, and pulled out a rather ratty looking sketchbook. "And I can't draw boys at all...."

I nodded, starting to tune out slightly. I coudln't handle it when people talked too much. "What time is it?" I wondered out loud, glancing down at my watch. "Oh shi-shoot! We're late for class!" I stuffed the last of my books into my bag and took off running.

Nari groaned. "What class is next?" she asked herself. She groaned, and started to wander, trying to remember which class was next.

Suddenly, I remembered Nari. "Shooot!" I skidded around and raced back toward her, grabbing her by the elbow and racing down the hall.
